On this Saturday, the 17th of February, the Grand Final of Eurovizija.lt 2024 will take place in Lithuania and the winner will earn the opportunity to represent the country in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, in Malmö. Thus, a few hours ago, the national broadcaster of Lithuania, LRT, revealed the official running order of all the ten (10) candidate entries, which is the following:

(You can listen to all the ten songs by clicking on the songs’ titles)

  1. Aistè – “We Will Rule the World”
  2. Žalvarinis – “Gaudė vėjai”
  3. Pluie de Comètes – “Be careful”
  4. Silvester Belt – “Luktelk“
  5. VB gang – KABOOM!!!”
  6. Il Senso – “Time”
  7. Shower – “Impossible”
  8. Monika Marija – “Starting Tommorow”
  9. Queens of Roses – “Walk through fire“
  10. The Roop – “Simple Joy”

In this year’s “Eurovizija.lt” multiple artists are expected to make a guest appearence in the show, including last year’s representative, Monika Linkytė, who will perform for once more her song “Stay“, the Lithuanian entry for Eurovision 2023. Moreover, the guest list includes also the famous Lithuanian girl trio Mango, who are going to perform a medley including all of their greatest hit songs.

This year’s format

It is of great importance though to remember that this year’s “Eurovizija.lt” has a different format from all the previous years. More specifically, in total five (5) different semi finals were conducted this year, while from each one only two songs qualified for the Grand Final through a split voting system between the public’s vote and a jury’s vote. However, only the top three entries of the Final will qualify to one more final stage, the so called “Super Final” on Saturday night, from which the winner will be determined only by the public’s vote.

Until we find out who is going to be Monika’s successor on the stage of Malmö, take a look at her performance on Liverpool’s stage in May of 2023:

Italy: Amadeus won’t host Sanremo 2025| These are the candidates for hosting the Festival!

We know for quite a while now, that Sanremo 2024, was going to be the last festival that the successful Amadeus would host. Now, after Angelina Mango’s win, the lights in Teatro Ariston went down, and RAI is searching for the new presenter of the Italian music show.

In their first joint interview in a popular Italian magazine, the italian presenter and his wife Giovanna Civitillo, talked about the withdrawal of Amadeus from the festival:

“After five years between Milan and Rome I want to devote myself to my wife and children, they fill up my life and they complete me. Off stage I’m like the sad clown, they’re my glass half full.”

H Giovanna Civitillo added that he is a capable, generous and honest man.

As of Festival di Sanremo 2025, there are already a few names that RAI is targeting. After both Carlo Conti (host and artistic director of the festival from 2015 until 2017) and Paolo Bonolis, (host of the 2005 festival) declined that offer, the public broadcaster has some other names in mind. These are Alessandro Cattelan, host of Eurovision 2022, Antonella Clerici (participant in Sanremo 2005, 2010) but also Alessia Marcuzzi.

The Festival di Sanremo 2024 was completed a few days ago, with Angelina Mango, being the first woman winning the festival after ten years. In Eurovision, Italy will take part directly in the Grand Final, as part of the BIG 5 group, in May 11:

Finland: Teemu Keisteri asks for time to decide whether to participate in Eurovision 2024!

Teemu Keisteri is the winner of UMK 2024. As Windows95man together with Henri Piispanen and the song No Rules overturned the predictions and will be the ones to represent Finland at Eurovision 2024. But in an interview Teemu Keisteri asks for time to decide if he will participate in the contest after all.

Israel’s participation is the deterrent for Teemu Keisteri to happily participate in the upcoming singing competition. Although he recognizes that it is a decision he will make together with Henri Piispanen, he asks for time to calmly think about his final decision.

I’m not alone in this, I’m with Henri. We started all this to spread joy. This is what we want to do at Eurovision. Everyone involved in this should feel good. We want to take some quiet time to decide on this.

Teemu is asking all this year’s participants to sign a petition asking the EBU to ban Israel from Eurovision 2024.

We would be happy to promote such a thing!
