What’s next for the Moldovan national final

  1. Examination of submissions
  2. The live auditions of the artists
  3. The final audition
  4. The National Final

The Live Auditions will take place on January 28 ,in the studios of the Moldovan Public Television. The auditions will be broadcasted live on the television channel Moldova 2 and on its website, as well as on www.eurovision.md

The score of the audition will be decided solely by the jury. The composition of the judging team will be made public only on the day of the respective stage. The jury will consist of an odd number of members (minimum 3, maximum 5) and will be different from the one in the National Final.

Likewise, on January 28, Moldova 1 television station will host a special edition about the live auditions with the participation of experts in the field and members of the jury. In this edition, the list of finalists will be announced. In accordance with the rules, the first 10 contestants, who will accumulate the highest score in the live auditions, will compete in the National Final.

But until we learn who is going to represent Moldova in Eurovision 2023, lets remember their song for last year’s contest.  Last year, Moldova was represented by Zdob şi Zdub and the Advahov Brothers for the first time with the song “Trenuleţul” which finished in 7th place in the Grand Final while also managing to secure the 2nd place in the televote:

Eurovision 2022: Moldova’s Second Rehearsal!

Coming up is Moldova with Zdob şi Zdub & Advahov Brothers with their song ‘Trenuleţul’. Moldova brought its big train energy to the Eurovision stage during their first rehearsal. The staging features full neon on the lighting and the graphics, and there are even a couple of little dance routines in the chorus. It’s about a 3-minute joyful chaos that seems to have received a variety of reactions. With their second rehearsal they will try to ensure everything works fine, in view of the upcoming semi-final on Tuesday.

The Second Rehearsal

Moldova brings a big party at the Eurovision stage during their second rehearsal. The performance starts with a fast close shot on one of the guitarists, who wears sunglasses along with 1 more group member. At first, yellow is the dominant colour of the stage, while purple becomes the key colour of the perfomance along the way. The band is wearing traditional multi-coloured clothes. The lead singer is dressed in red and blue with a black hat. In front of the drummer there is a puppet with a huge grey beard and a big hat. There are blue, red and purple colours in the sun’s LED screen. Purple lights come away from the sun. There is also use of the LED floor. All the members are grooving and hopping in the rhythm of the song. There are enough wide shots, as also shots from above showing all the group members and the LED floor graphics. Towards the end there is a key change in the song, one of the guitarists lies down the floor playing the guitar at the same time and there are visible coloured lined graphics. At the end, the lead singer with 2 more band members that wear white-and-black clothes take advantage of the B stage, where they finish their performance. The 2 hallways of the B stage become elevated, in the bottom of which we can distinguish the same coloured lined graphics as in the main stage before. The performance ends with the waterfall turning into purple colour and the 2 members of the group in the B stage getting near to the singer.

Moldova: Natalia Gordienko reveals more information regarding her participation in Eurovision 2021.

In a recent interview the representative of Moldova in Eurovision 2021 Natalia Gordienko, revealed further information about her participation at the upcoming Eurovision.

She spoke about her first participation in Eurovision 2006, the cancellation of Eurovision 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, her participation in Eurovision 2021, her son and her desire to get involved in politics.

In 2006 she represented Moldova together with Arsenium and the song Loca. As far as this experience she stated that:

My heart was beating so fast because of fear, my palms were sweating, I though I had forgotten the lyrics.

After the cancellation of Eurovision 2020 she stated that:

I was singing, drinking and shouting for days to recover.

She mentioned how she was approached for the representation of Moldova in Eurovision 2020:

For a long I wanted to return to Eurovision, but it dawned on me that I couldn’t stand the whole process. Last January, Phillip Kirkorov told me that the Dream Team had a song for me and he wanted me to fly to Athens for the recording.

In the end, she revealed new information for the song with which she will compete in Eurovision 2021.

Another new song is already ready. And if Prison was a ballad, then this is a purely dance song about sex and youth people.

As you first read at EurovisionFun, the new song will have nothing to do with Prison, this year’s participation of Natalia Gordienko. The song will be rhythmic… very rhythmic! Its sound and not its melody, we can say that it reminds us of Maruv’s song, The Siren Song, with which she would have represented Ukraine at Eurovision 2019.

The participation of Natalia Gordienko is signed by the Dream Team. The song has been composed jointly by Dimitris Kontopoulos and Philipp Kirkorov, while the director will be Fokas Evangelinos.

The recording of the song took place in Moscow, since due to travel restrictions it was not possible for Natalia Gordienko to visit Athens. Vocal coach this time as well as in the case of Uku Suviste was Victoria Chalkiti, while the both Philipp Kirkorov and the project manager of the project, Elias Kokotos were present. The recording took place in Vi Studio.

Natalia Gordienko has a different strategy for Eurovision 2021. Until then, let’s remember the Prison, with which she would have represented her country ,Moldova, in this year’s competition:
