Italy: Gianni Morandi remains in Sanremo 2022 after accidentally publishing his competing song

The Italian broadcaster (RAI) has announced that Gianni Morandi will still compete in Sanremo 2022 after he accidentally published his competing song.

Gianni Morandi published the song accidentally through Facebook yesterday, facing potential disqualification from Sanremo. Publishing the song onto social media, the chorus of his song “Apri tutte le porte” could be heard within the video, remaining online for about 15 minutes. The rules of Sanremo 2022 state that songs should not be released ahead of their performance in the contest, if the song is released, it will lead to disqualification.

RAI released a statement saying:

“Regarding the involuntary dissemination of the piece by Gianni Morandi, competing at the 72nd Sanremo Song Festival, the Artistic Direction in agreement with Rai1 does not believe it should exclude the aforementioned song because it was a pure technical problem, due to the need to Morandi to wear a brace on his right hand which has undergone several operations following the accident that occurred a few months ago. seeing privately.

Morandi never resorted to social media managers to manage his Facebook profile and therefore committed the aforementioned technical error.
The song and the artist Morandi, therefore, remain in the competition.

Sanremo 2022 is expected to take place from the 1st to the 5th of February. Where the winner of Sanremo 2022 is given the opportunity to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

Montenegro: Darko Dimitrov as co-writer and producer of the country’s entry!

Some hours ago, Montenegro’s public broadcaster (RTCG) announced Vladana Vučinić as the coyntry’s representaive, in their return in the 2022 Contest. Vladana herself revealed on Instagram that the famous producer Darko Dimitrov is involed in the making of the song.

I can officially announce that this year I will have the honour to represent my country- Montenegro in the Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Turin (Italy)

The recent tragedy in my family crashed me… The song is about an undescribible miracle that just ”flew” from within me and I can freely say that it is nothing but my broken heart in bits and peices, transformed into music and lyrics.

This is everything I can reveal for now… and one thing I know for sure is that this song will live in peoples’ hearts, and I hope it has a significantg influence on them, all over the world, in those difficult times for everyone.

Special thanks to the co-writer and producer, Darko Dimitrov, who made the song sound dynamic, like he only can.

Some information on Darko Dimitrov:

Darko Dimitrov is a producer and a composer from North Macedonia, born in the 21st of January in 1973. He is well-known for his Yugoslavic pop music all over the Balkans and the world. Some of his Eurovision entries include:

  • Ninanajna by Elena Risteska (North Macedonia 2006, 12th position)
  • Kruna by Nevena Božović (Serbia 2019, 18th position)
  • Proud by Tamara Todevska (North Macedonia 2019, 7th position)
  • Fall from the Sky by Arilena Ara (Albania 2020, contest cancelled)
  • You by Vasil Garvanliev (North Macedonia 2020, contest cancelled)
  • LOCO LOCO by Hurricane (Serbia 2021, 15th position)

Montenegro is the thrird ex-yugoslav country that Darko Dimitrov represents, and the fourth overall (counting Albania’s entry in the 2020 cancelled edition of the contest).

We are yet to know of the exact release date of Vladana’s song for Eurovision 2022.

Eurovision 2022: Semi Final Allocation Draw to take place on January 25!

One of the most important dates of the 66th Eurovision Song Contest was revealed a few hours ago, as the draw for the Eurovision 2022 semi-finals will take place on January 25th.

As revealed by the Montenegrin state radio, RTCG, in the context of the announcement of Vladana Vučinić as the representative of the Balkan country in Turin, the draw of the semi-finals will take place in exactly three weeks from today.

During the ceremony, the emblem of the event will be handed over from the city of Rotterdam to the Mayor of Turin. The draw will take place either at the Mole Antonelliana, the tallest building in Turin, or at the Palazzo Madama, which housed the first Senate of the Italian Kingdom.

The draw

The first part of the draw will determine the semi-final that will be broadcasted and voted by each of the five countries that are directly in the final (Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom).

The second part of the draw will determine in which semi-final and in which half the other 36 participating countries will compete. As in recent years, the exact order of appearance will be determined by the producers of the event at a later time.

The 36 countries will be distributed in five or six pots, based on historical voting patterns as calculated by the official television partner Digame. This separation is done in order to avoid the gathering of many neighboring countries in a semifinal that would significantly affect the final result.

We remind you that Eurovision 2022 will be held on May 10, 12 and 14 at the PalaOlimpico in the capital of Piedmont. Thus, Turin will become the third city in Italy where the Eurovision Song Contest will be held. The previous two were Naples in 1965 and Rome in 1991.

We remind you that the 66th Eurovision Song Contest will take place at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, on 10, 12 and 14 May 2022, with 41 participating countries.Stay tuned to Eurovisionfun for all the news related to the 66th Eurovision Song Contest!

North Macedonia: Eurosong 2022 will be held via videoclips | EXCLUSIVE

The Public Television of North Macedonia announced the return of the national final Eurosong, for the selection of the artist and the song that will represent the country in Eurovision 2022. Eurovisionfun exclusively reveals to you, the way in which the selection will be made.

A maximum of six songs will be selected, as announced, for the final selection of the Eurosong. In fact, in the relevant announcement, the public television of North Macedonia had previously announced the involvement of the public in the selection. Until the 16th of January, the interested creators and artists have the opportunity to send their proposal. Only citizens of North Macedonia have the right to participate in terms of performers, while the creators are allowed to be from abroad. The channel promises a transparent process, with the entries being presented to the public and with the result being judged by 50% by the international jury and 50% by the television audience of North Macedonia.

All of the above is known, but what is not known and you are reading it today, for the first time through Eurovisionfun, is that the competition process will be quite similar to that of the Czech Republic. Videoclips will be shot, in which the artists will probably perform their participations live, with a similar background, etc. Through these videos, the public and the international jury will be invited to vote, in order to select the song and the artist that will represent North Macedonia, at Eurovision 2022.

The television of North Macedonia does its best in order to organize a remarkable national final, even under these conditions, with democratic and meritocratic procedures, in order to select the best possible option for the contest. They hope that this will be the beginning of a series of national finals that in the long run, will become better at all levels.

North Macedonia was represented in last year’s competition by Vasil Garganliev, with the song Here I Stand, but without being able to reach the grand final.

Kalomira: “I have a song ready for Eurovision”!

Kalomira wished all Greeks a happy new year, through the show “What do you say now!” , live from Washington, DC, United States.

The famous snger who brought Greece a respectable third place at Eurovision 2008, wished for the new year, talked about her career in singing and her life in the USA. She was moved by the tribute video prepared by the show’s hosts and talked about her past in Greece and the effort she made to fulfill her dream: to become a singer.

“I have missed Greece a lot, the job, the people, the backstage” she noted and added: “I want to come to Greece, but it is difficult with the children, because they are young and all our relatives are in the USA. I feel that I will not be a good mom, if I do what I want and they do not see any of their relatives “.

“I live another life here, I am 100% Greek, but I was born here and I have a normal daily life. I live another life in Greece “, added Kalomira, emphasizing that her children have not seen her sing live. “My children ask me why they want an interview from you” .

Speaking about her husband, she noted that she is very busy with the children, while she stressed that she does gymnastics every day from 06:00 to 07:00. “It’s the only time I can, because then I have to make them breakfast,” she said.

Kalomira and Eurovision

Of course, she was asked about Eurovision, a story that lasts at least from 2018, when her name was first heard as a possible representative of Greece or Cyprus in the contest.

I have five songs ready, one of which is for Eurovision which I keep if I happen to go again. I keep it if something happens. It’s awesome, it’s the most beautiful song, I wrote it with Claydee, Mohombi and very successful people.

Kalomira also answers the question whether she would represent a country other than Greece.

I have been offered, but I think how I will keep another flag!

Finally, she added about her future in the field of music, emphasizing that she has collaborated with successful producers and is looking for a way to release them in Greece.

We remind you that through Eurovisionfun in August, you were informed about Kalomira’s interest in representing Greece at Eurovision 2022. Finally, for unknown reasons, she did not submit her participation to ERT, although she was indeed in Greece for the recording of these songs, with the assistance of Claydee, but also of Mohombi, while she had made an appointment in ERT in early September for this purpose.

SVT in crisis meetings for Melodifestivalen, after the newly imposed restrictions!

Tens of thousands of spectators who have purchased tickets for the Melodifestivalen tour shows held in February and March of 2022 are in danger of losing the opportunity to watch their favourite artists perform live.

It has become clear since the Swedish government and the Public Health Organization, imposed new strict guidelines concerning the pandemic, due to the new coronavirus variant spreading across the community.

According to information from Aftonbladet , back-to-back crisis meetings of the editorial staff of SVT, took place on Wednesday .

Aftonbladet contacted Melodifestivalen project manager Anette Brattström via text message and she confirmed the crisis meetings at SVT:

We have just received the information on the new guidelines in place and this is of course a challenge for Melodifestivalen 2022. We are currently having internal discussions with all the involved parties, in order to find a solution.

Tickets for the concerts are almost sold out

SVT is responsible for the television broadcast of Melodifestivalen, but Live Nation is responsible for the tour concerts and ticket sales. As early as Monday, Live Nation sent an email to its customers informing them that tickets for the Melodifestivalen 2022 concerts were almost sold out.

The new imposed measures

However, the new restrictions may mean that up to half of the tickets sold may have to be cancelled. On Tuesday, the government announced that any public events involving more than 500 people would require both vaccination certificates and social distancing rules of at least one-meter in all directions, between each group of visitors. In a theatre or arena, this also means in practice that every other row, seats must remain empty to ensure the one-meter social distancing rule.

The 2022 tour to be held in the same cities as in 2014

In 2014, Melodifestivalen was held in the same cities as in 2022. At that time, a total of 59,200 seats were available for the concerts.

Assuming that Melodifestivalen 2022 expects to gather around the same number of people in the arena again, this means that around 30,000 ticket buyers may be left without a seat, next year. In addition, there are two rehearsals open to the public every week, on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons. This could mean that another 10,000 spectators may not have a place to seat.

A source from the industry with good insight explains:

This is how things are. Some situations cannot be avoided. We hope, of course, that the government will take action and be able to remove the restrictions by next year, but when it comes to Melodifestivalen, it is not easy to take a chance. The question is whether you can be icy cold, at least for the final and keep hoping that the situation will have changed by then.

Junior Eurovision 2021: EBU demands explanations from Azerbaijan Public Television for violating the regulations!

Shortly after Armenia’s victory in Junior Eurovision 2021, it became known via Twitter that the commentators of the Azeri public television, Ictimai TV, were talking throughout the appearance of Armenia, something that is against the rules of the contest.

Naturally, shortly after this leak, we have the official position of the EBU according to which it demands explanations from the public television of Azerbaijan for the violation of the regulations!

More specifically, it states:

Will Azerbaijan’s public television be punished for violating the regulations? We will monitor the issue and inform you of any developments!

Eurovision 2022: Two scenarios are being considered for Turin!

An important revelation in view of Eurovision 2022 was made by the Executive Supervisor of our favorite competition, Martin Österdahl. Speaking on the sidelines of Junior Eurovision 2021 on the OGAE Sweden channel, Österdahl revealed that there are two scenarios on the table in view of the 66th Eurovision Song Contest.

Occasioned by the second Junior Eurovision since the outbreak of the pandemic, the Swedish Executive Producer of Eurovision Song Contest answered about the differences between Warsaw 2020 and Paris 2021:

There were definitely differences. Every year has its challenges, as we say with my team. In Warsaw, last year, we were fortunate that TVP had hosted the 2019 competition and had the necessary experience to host an event like that. Also, the pandemic was at a much earlier stage than now. It was different than this year. Today we know more about the pandemic, but we saw that three or four weeks ago we had the appearance of the Omicron variant that caused a lot of concern to all of us. The point is, when it comes to producing live TV shows, you have to be prepared for the worst and have an alternative scenario ready. But the pandemic complicates the situation.

Scenarios

Asked about the four scenarios that were used for Rotterdam 2021 and whether they would be kept in view of Turin 2022, Martin Österdahl replied:

We have more or less the same mindset that we are still in the middle of the pandemic. We have to prepare in the same way for the competition here in Paris but also for the Eurovision in the spring in Turin. Hopefully, we do not have to continue working with four different scenarios for Turin, as we did for a long time in Rotterdam. Maybe two is the realistic development for Turin. We hope that as the temperature rises, the pandemic will be less complicated.

Live-On-Tape

At the same time, the Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest explained the EBU’s decision to maintain the use of live-on-tape as an alternative in case something goes wrong:

We have now seen how the new variant affected travel instructions and led to the application of new restrictions. We can not take the risk of this happening again. It is a huge production. There are 41 countries that are going to participate in Eurovision Song Contest in the spring. It is a huge investment on the part of RAI, the organizers of the competition. We must ensure that there is a competition and live-on-tape is the last guarantee that we will have a competition.
With the Omicron mutation spreading rapidly across the length and breadth of the Old Continent, Martin Österdahl’s responses give us a first taste of the EBU and RAI plans for Turin. In any case, the evolution of the pandemic is so unpredictable that any prediction of how Eurovision 2022 will be conducted is risky.

We remind you that the 66th Eurovision Song Contest will take place at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, on 10, 12 and 14 May 2022, with 41 participating countries.Stay tuned to Eurovisionfun for all the news related to the 66th Eurovision Song Contest!

Odds: Spectacular drop in Russia’s odds in a few hours!

Although it’s too early to base bets and odds on the Eurovision winner, a frantic drop in Russian odds in the last few hours has prompted us to write this article.

Russia with power at the top

As usual at the beginning of each Eurovision season, when there is still no specific information about the participants, but not many songs, the countries leading the betting race are Sweden, Italy, Russia and the countries in general that last year did well in the competition.

The same was true of the odds for the winner of Eurovision 2022, where in first place we had Sweden, followed by Norway, Italy, France and Russia, with very small differences between them.

In the last few hours, however, Russia has dropped its performance too much, overtaking not only in the first place, but with a big difference from the rest. Characteristically, as you can see below, Russia currently has a 14% chance of winning based on the odds (a large percentage for the time being), with Sweden now in second place with only 6%.

What is the reason for this sudden change?

Usually such a sudden change in odds for a country is justified either by the release of the song, or by the leak of some information that bookmakers consider very important.

Three artists are rumored so far to represent Russia at Eurovision 2022. These are Klava Koka, Alexander Panayotov and finally Diana Ankudinova. All of them are very big names in the Russian music scene.

As in previous years, RTR, which for 2022 is responsible for the selection of Russia to participate in the contest, is expected to work with the Dream Team, with the aim of course to bring the country higher than the ninth place that Manizha took in Rotterdam.

According to our exclusive information, so far the Russian public television has not reached the artist who will represent it next May in Turin, although the relevant discussions have begun.

We will follow with interest the evolution of the betting odds for Eurovision 2022, while of course at Eurovisionfun you will be informed about all the details of the Russian participation as soon as there is something to be announced…

Who will represent Russia at Eurovision 2022?
