With the help of technology and with Uku in Tallinn and Dimitris Kontopoulos in Athens, the recording of the song started yesterday (21/9). It is worth mentioning that Victoria Chalkiti is the vocal coach, as she will be a vocal coach with Natalia Gordienko too.

The first information about the song

We are glad to have heard the song and we convey to you exclusively the first information. This is something completely different from What Love Is, the song with which Uku won Eesti Laul 2020. It is not a ballad, but a mid tempo, a completely radiofriendly track, while its lyrics are about a social problem of our ages. If, of course, Uku Suviste wins the Eesti Laul 2021 and represents Estonia again in the contest, Fokas Evangelinos will take over his stage appearance in Rotterdam, as would happen this year as well.

We remind you that the deposit of entries in Estonia lasts until November 6. The announcement of the songs that will compete in the two semifinals of Eesti Laul will be announced on December 5, while the final will take place on March 6. The semifinals will of course precede, which are scheduled for February 18th and 20th.

Estonia: The detailed results of Eesti Laul 2020

The official results of televoting in the Eesti Laul 2020 final have been officially announced shortly through the Estonian public television website. Uku Suviste didn’t just win, but he did triumph, gaining about 70% of Estonia’s preference in the super final!

A horse race finally proved to be Esti Laul this year, as Uku Suviste was never threatened by his rivals.

In the semifinals he had more than double the votes of the favorite and finally finished second in the final standings, Jaagup Tuisk and the song of Beautiful Lies.

He had 16,880 votes in the final round of voting, with Jaagup Tuisk receiving just 5,259. In the super final between the three candidates, the difference was struck, as within just 15 minutes of the telecast of Uku and “What Love Is” by Dimitris Kontopoulos and Sharon Vaughn received 33,582 votes, with “Beautiful Lies” marginally finishing second, receiving just 7,944 votes. Eurovision: Dimitris Kontopoulos equaled the composer’s record with most entries in the same contest

Dimitris Kontopoulos wrote his own story yesterday, after equaling Borislav Milanov’s record of 2017 with his three entries in the same contest last night.

He equalized the composer’s record with most entries in the same competition
Dimitris Kontopoulos has three songs in this year’s competition. Greece’s SUPERG! RL, Moldova’s Prison and Estonia’s What Love Is. This is something that happened once again during the contest.

In 2017, Borislav Milanov was the composer, among other co-creators of course, of the holdings of Serbia, FYROM and Bulgaria. Of course, only one of his three songs made it to the finals. Particularly the Bulgarian one, “Beautiful Mess”, which finally won the second place.

In order to prevent the malevolent ones that are abundant this year, Dimitris Kontopoulos typically (although he has rights reserved normally), does not sign the Estonian song as a composer, but as a producer. This was done so that there would be no problem with the rules of Eesti Laul, since the candidate songs should have at least 50% Estonian creators. So, Sharon Vaughn, who is an American citizen and composer Uku Suviste himself, seems a regular lyricist.

Record for Sharon Vaughn. Will D. Kontopoulos write history in Rotterdam?

The record holder is lyricist Sharon Vaughn, as no lyricist in the history of the competition has ever signed three entries in the same competition!

However, Dimitris Kontopoulos is also expected to write history, but to be sure, he will write a new story, since if all three of his entries go to the final, he will be the only composer in the history of the competition with three songs in the final!

Recall that last year John Lundvik was a composer for Sweden and the United Kingdom, as Thomas G: Son has previously been a composer for two.

In stubbornness, the Dream Team and Dimitris Kontopoulos, in particular, remain dynamic and successful in Eurovision, continuing to enjoy the recognition and recognition of many countries!

Moldova: Listen “Prison”‘s final version | Watch the video clip!

Only six hours left until Moldova’s live audition and the national selection of the song that will represent the country at the 65th Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

The final version of Natalia Gordienko’s song Prison was released today, the video clip of which was made in Greece. The song is signed by Dimitris Kontopoulos and Philip Kirkorkov, while lyrics by Sharon Vaughn.

“Dream Team” says about their participation in the moldovan selection with Prison and Natalia Gordienko:

Natalia Gordienko is one of the most popular artists in Moldova and the only singer that has managed to win the two most important festivals in Eastern Europe : Slavianski bazaar and New Wave.

In 2008, when she was just 21 years old, she received the prestigious “National artist” award for her contribution in promoting Moldova around the world. At the National selection Natalia Gordienko is participating with the song “Prison”, a powerful Avant Garde ballad with strong ethnic elements.

The song describes the extreme emotions in a passionate relationship. The track is composed by the “dream team” Phillip Kirkorov and Dimitris Kontopoulos while the lyrics are written by Sharon Vaughn. In case Natalia Gordienko wins the national selection, Fokas Evangelinos is going to be the creative director of her stage presentation in Eurovision.

The video clip of the song was shot in Athens and shows the way Natalia is trying to escape from the “prison” of her passionate lover.

Dream Team for Prison.

Prison is a very different type of music from what Natalia Gordienko has done so far. She says it was a dream of a lifetime to be back on the Eurovision stage, having already participated in 2006 as a duo at that time, of course, but had not attempted so far, as she wanted to be with the ‘Dream Team’.

This will be the second time the ‘Dream Team’ will represent Moldova, if Natalia wins in tomorrow’s Moldova’s national selection. In 2018, the Greek- Russian team was behind DoReDoS, where the song My Lucky Day put the country in the 10th place with 209 points.

This was Russia’s second choice for the Eurovision!

As you already know, Sergey Lazarev brought his motherland back to Eurovision’s top 3 by performing his epic ballad “Scream”. The song is composed by Dimitris Kontopoulos and the lyrics were Sharon Vaughn’s work.

Before the announcement of “Scream”, Sergey admitted that the song was chosen among 2 other recorded songs. Later this day it was released the first part of his EP “Ya ne boyus” (I’m not afraid), in which is included a bonus track in English. The song is called “Goddess” and it’s believed that this was one of the 2 other songs-choices for the contest, as it’s written by Dimitris Kontopoulos and it lasts less than 3 minutes.

The second part of his EP is expected to be released later in November. Probably the third song will be included there.

Could “Goddess” bring the trophy to Russia?

Russia: Listen to Sergey’s “Scream”! We scream our enthusiasm out!

Russian entry’s song is officially released and “It’s getting exciting”! Sergey Lazarev will represent Russia with his song “Scream” in Tel Aviv this May, and he seems to be this year’s black horse! “Scream” is a powerful ballad, but totally different to what we’re used to listen from Lazarev and Kontopoulos. It’s a cinematic, demanding and stirring song which shows singer’s high vocal skills. Read more
