This year’s Sanremo has been and will continue to be talked about due to events during the performances of the participating artists and not only, with Blanco‘s guest appearance during the first night of the Festival being a prime example.
Blanco’s appearance made rounds on media inside and outside of Italy, as the artist, in a move that is still debated as to whether it was planned or not, destroyed the flower sets that had been placed as props for his performance, which resulted to damages on the Ariston stage.
Reactions to this move were not limited to the reaction of the public and fans but have now taken a dramatic turn, with the Prosecutor’s Office of Imperia investigating the case on the charge of destruction of property at a public event, a charge punishable by one to five years in prison. The case is expected to go to court in Imperia.
Aside from Blanco, a second legal case is unfolding starring Rosa Chemical and Fedez, over the kiss they shared during contestant Rosa Chemical’s appearance on the final night of the Festival.
Specifically, a representative of the organization Pro Vita & Famiglia (Pro-Life & Family)filed a complaint to the Prosecutor’s Office of Sanremo, arguing that
“(That of Rosa Chemical and Fedez) is a behavior of unprecedented gravity, which has led to a wave of general indignation for the shame, discomfort and revulsion caused by the vulgarity of behavior in the sexual sphere.”
The organization’s lawyer argues that the kiss between the two artists violates articles 529 and 527 of the Criminal Code regarding obscene acts and objects and obscene acts in a public place respectively. Added to the charges is the violation of laws on the protection of minors with regard to the material shown on television until 11 o’clock at night.
For all of the above, RAI seems to be at risk of a fine of up to 600 thousand euros, in the event that it is found guilty.

After the Grand Final of Sanremo 2023 and the victory of Marco Mengoni, the detailed results for all the nights of the Festival have been published.
On the third night when we heard the 28 songs for the second time – the TV audience and the polling committee voted, where Ultimo was ranked first. The television audience had him first with a percentage of 18.83%, while the polling committee ranked him only 11th. The difference was also big for Giorgia, whom the polling committee had in 6th place, while the public only in 12th. Elodie did not impress the audience and was ranked 13th. Finally, LDA who was 9th in the audience, came 22nd in the panel. All this resulted in the two singers losing several places in the general ranking and LDA rising quite a bit.
On the night of the duets, a panel of polls and a panel of journalists gave first place to Giorgia. The audience, however, had a different opinion, ranking her 4th. Elodie also did better in the committees compared to the public. Mr Rain who came 5th in the audience was only 25th in the panel of journalists. Ariete was in last place on both committees, while in the TV audience she finished 7th.
This is how the demoscopic jury, the press jury and the televote (in %) voted on the fourth #Sanremo2023 night, the covers' night: pic.twitter.com/gcbGTKenns
As for the night of the final it seems that the TV audience was the one who deprived Giorgia of a place in the super final by ranking her 9th in the first round of voting. In the super final Marco Mengoni came first in both the TV audience and the committees, while Ultimo was second in the audience and last in the journalists’ committee.
Overall, the winner Marco Mengoni was favored by both the TV audience and the committees, something very important for a good result at the Sanremo Festival. Two other artists who achieved this were Lazza and Tananai.
Marco Mengoni has confirmed his participation in Eurovision 2023, now it remains to be seen whether he will go with Due Vite or change his song.

The Terza Serata of the 73rd Festival di Sanremo has just been completed! Tonight, all 28 contestants performed their songs for the second time and, at the end of the evening, we found out the ranking of the demoscopic jury, as well as the televote. Amadeus, among Gianni Morandi and Paola Egonu, were tonight’s presenters. There were also a lot of guest appearances, including Måneskin.
The performances
Paola & Chiara – Furore
The two sisters are dressed in black and covered in glitter. The choreography is the same as yesterday. An uplifting start to the evening!
Last night’s surprise act comes to the stage for an equally moving performance of his anti-war ballad, proving that he’s returned to prove everyone wrong after his last place in last year’s Festival.
A really powerful performance of the rap song with the magical 90’s beat. At the end Lazza, clearly emotional, searches for his mother in the audience and gives her his flowers in a moving gesture.
Tonight Ultimo decides to be accompanied by his piano, performing a song that becomes more powerful by the second in his own unique way. Big applause from the audience.
A song that stood out from the first night. Mr.Rain is once again accompanied by a choir of children. One of the most moving songs and performances. Huge applause from the audience.
Tonight, it was the demoscopic jury‘s and tv audience‘s turn to vote. Having combined their votes with the votes of the jury of journalists from the two previous nights, the ranking is now as follows:

The Seconda Serata of the 73rd Festival diSanremo has ended and we have now officially listened to all the songs of this year’s Festival! At the end of the night, we found out the overall ranking of the jury of journalists (i.e. print and television journalists by 33%, website journalists by 33% and radio journalists by 33%).
Amadeus, along with Gianni Morandi and Francesca Fagnani were tonight’s presenters. We also had quite a few guests, including the Black Eyed Peas.
The contestants
Will – Stupido
Debut singer with a classic Italian ballad.
Modà – Lasciami
A well-known rock band appearing for the third time in Sanremo. Their previous entries have done very well, although their song this year is a bit predictable.
Sethu – Cause perse
Another debut artist with a rousing hyperpop song. The singer’s twin brother plays the guitar.
Articolo 31 – A beautiful trip
A classic Italian hip hop group that recently reunited. A nostalgic melody with rap verses.
Lazza – Cenere
A very special song, mixing rap with 90’s dance music. Very strong performance.
Giorgia – Parole dette male
Fifth participation of the singer in Sanremo who has never ended up outside of the top 3. A presentation with a lot of finesse.
Colapesce Dimartino – Splash
The duo that rocked 2021 with the hit Musica leggerissima is back again this year with yet another vintage disco hit that makes the audience cheer.
Shari – Egoista
A debutant singer and the third Sanremo Giovani finalist of the night, with a ballad accompanied by the piano.
Madame – Il bene nel male
Her second participation, Madame returns with a song as strong as Voce, if not stronger. Very interesting performance.
Levante – Vivo
The fan favorite singer returns after 2020 with an electropop hit, unlike 2020’s Tikibombom. Very uplifting song and performance.
Tananai – Tango
Second entry for the young artist who already has a large fanbase, after having gone viral despite his last place in Sanremo 2022. His entry is nothing like the one of last year, as he has returned with a typical italian ballad. Really good vocals, notably improved from last year.
Rosa Chemical – Made in Italy
A sensual performance of an extremely fun and original swing song altogether. This is the singer’s first Sanremo participation.
LDA – Se poi domani
Typical italian dramatic ballad for the debutant singer.
Paola e Chiara – Furore
Fifth entry for the female duet. The song is very danceable and accompanied by dancers.
The results
After we found out the jury of journalists’ voting for the first set of 14 songs last night, tonight the jury of journalists voted for the remaining 14. Their ranking of tonight’s songs was the following:
Colapesce e Dimartino

He already represented Italy during the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö and he confirms he is open to represent his country one more time. Marco Mengoni is currently competing at the traditional Festival di Sanremo which is also the Italian national final.
It is worth mentioning that winning Sanremo does not automatically mean that the winner will go to Eurovision. However, in recent years the winner of Sanremo has accepted the invitation to represent Italy in the music contest.
When he talked with La Stampa newspaper, Marco Mengoni made it clear that he is not only ready to represent his country again but also, that he had good memories from his previous Eurovision experience
Sure and (the song) “Due Vite” would look good there too, it’s like the wind, it looks good everywhere. After the 2013 Sanremo victory and participating in Eurovision, I started traveling to half of Europe. I have a fan base outside Italy, their warmth reaches me every day. I would gladly return.
When Marco Mengoni represented Italy for the first time he was facing professional difficulties. In an interview for La Republicca he reflected about that period
In 2013 I didn’t expect to win, many already considered me finished, nobody believed in us, it seemed to me I was fighting against everyone and everything. I even thought about going back to university, music would always be part of my life but it wouldn’t be my job.
Marco Mengoni is one of the favourites to win Sanremo 2023 according to the betting predictions.
Marco Mengoni represented Italy for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song “L’essenziale”. He ended up in 7th place in the Grand Final
