Cyprus: The surprise with Andrew Lambrou’s stage presentation in Liverpool!

Andrew Lambrou is in Athens, where together with the Cypriot delegation, as well as the PANIK Records team, he is in feverish preparations ahead of his participation in Eurovision 2023.

Filming for the video clip

Eurovisionfun got in touch with the people of the Cypriot delegation and we bring you all the latest information. First let’s say that the main reason for Andrew Lambrou’s visit to Athens is the filming of the video clip. While the initial plans wanted RIK to release the Cypriot entry at the end of January, the presidential elections moved any developments back a bit. So, in the next period of time, the filming of the video clip will take place, which according to our information will include both exterior and interior shots.

The director of the video clip will be Giorgos Benioudakis, who has to his credit many collaborations with almost all the popular Greek artists (A. Rammos, K. Argyros, L. Giorkas, S. Rokkos, Claudia, El. Foureira, etc. .).

The surprise with the stage presentation

The surprise held by the Cypriot delegation and coming to turn things around quite a bit are the persons who will be responsible for Andrew Lambrou’s stage presentation in Liverpool.

What we already knew is that this year Marvin Dietmann has taken over as the artistic director of the Cypriot participation for a third time in a row. But the twist we are talking about above is that this time he will not be alone.

Andrew Lambrou’s stage presentation at the M&S Bank Arena will be curated by both Marvin Dietmann and Ross Nicholson from London’s world-renowned directing team, Black Skull!

This group took on directing very large projects and great artists. One of her last jobs was Marco Mengoni’s concert at San Siro, the biggest concert venue in Italy!

When will we hear the song?

At the end of February, the suspense ends, since RIK and PANIK Records plan to publicize this year’s Cypriot song with the simultaneous release of the video clip.

The Cypriot participation hopes for a good result in this year’s contest, while slowly the country is gaining ground in the betting table, which they hope will continue even after the release of the song.

Today at the offices of PANIK Records we had the first meeting of the two representatives of Greece and Cyprus in the Eurovision contest, since for the first time since 2018 the artists representing the two countries belong to the same record label.

The composer-producers of this year’s Cypriot entry have numerous entries in Melodifestivalen, but also in the Eurovision Song Contest. The Eurovision songs they have created are as follows:

Thomas Stengaard : Denmark 2013, Germany 2018, Germany 2019, San Marino 2021, Cyprus 2021, Azerbaijan 2022

Cyprus: Two of the creators of Andrew Lambrou’s entry were revealed!

A while ago, the names of two of the creators of this year’s Cypriot entry were revealed on the official RIK account for the Eurovision contest. They are Jimmy Jansson and Thomas Stengaart, both with experience in the Eurovision contest and with several successes.

RIK has published a photo from the recording of its Eurovision entry, which was made by Andrew Lambrou in Stockholm and which you were informed about through Eurovisionfun.

As you can see, RIK declares itself ready for the 67th Eurovision Song Contest, preparing every detail much earlier this time.

This will be Thomas Stengaart‘s seventh entry in the contest, having co-written Denmark’s Eurovisin 2013 winning song, as well as Germany’s entries in 2018 and 2019, San Marino in 2021 and Azerbaijan in 2022. He was also one of the creators of El Diablo, the Cypriot participation in 2021.

Jimmy Jansson has clearly less experience, since in addition to his two participations in Melodifestivalen, he was one of the creators of Denmark in Eurovision 2020, which was however canceled due to the pandemic. So, it will essentially be his first time competing.

As the Cypriot mission informed us, Andrew Lambrou immediately after the end of the recording session in Stockholm will travel to Athens and from there to Cyprus. Thus, we will have the opportunity to see him in various media in the coming days.

Cyprus: Andrew Lambrou is in Stockholm for the recording of his Eurovision entry!

Andrew Lambrou arrived in snowy Stockholm in order to record the song with which he will compete in the 67th Eurovision Song Contest.

The representative of Cyprus in Eurovision 2023 and RIK, the Cypriot public broadcaster, have really entered into rhythm for Eurovision, since unlike this year when the decisions were made at a fairly advanced stage, this time everyone’s wishes are to have time ahead of them, so that there is also the most appropriate preparation.

Andrew Lambrou left his native Australia, which has summer these months, in order to come to Stockholm, where today snowed for the first time this year.

Delighted, Andrew uploaded a short video from snowy Stockholm, saying that it is his first experience in such cold, but also in snow!

According to what was conveyed to us by the Cypriot delegation, Andrew Lambrou’s trip to Stockholm has to do with the recording of the song, with which he will represent his country in the Eurovision contest. This practically means that the song is already selected. More details about the creators have yet to be announced, but the fact that he is in Stockholm for the recording makes us believe that Swedish musicians will sign the Cypriot entry to Eurovision 2023.

Immediately after the end of the recording, Andrew Lambrou will come for a few days to Athens and then to Cyprus, where he will give interviews and be present in the country’s media.
